Our Mission, Passion, Author
A heart saved in grace and changed by Christ needs to be fed, but it can only be truly nourished by theology—the study of the things of God—and practically applied.
At Renewed In Truth, we serve two types of women:
To the Theology-Loving Woman
Friend, I know you have a passion for theology and studying God’s Word. It’s necessary to life; it fuels you and brings out your passions. You become so excited about telling others what you learning and sharing your favourite systematic theology books. People are awed by your intelligence and passion.
However, what they don’t know is your breaking heart behind the scenes. They don’t know how much you struggle with fear and sadness. They don’t see how much you struggle to defeat sin and smother anxiety. They don’t know the shame you face having all this knowledge and yet struggling so much.
I get it. I was there. When I discovered Reformed Theology, I dove into all the books, articles, and sermons I could find. I became an isolated theologian. In this isolation, I struggled with fear, anxiety, and depression.
Part of the problem was that I had yet to make my theology practical. I was living to study, but I was never making use of what I was learning. I only piled more information upon more information.
At Renewed In Truth, I seek to help women like you make your theology practical. My goal is not only to teach you what it means that God is sovereign, but also to challenge you how that applies to your day-to-day life. I want to show you how the theology you have studied applies to the many struggles and difficulties you will and are facing. I want to show you how the gospel applies to you today.
To the Fervent, World-Changing Gal
Friend, I know you have a righteous desire to serve your world and bring the gospel to those who have not heard it. Service and missions make your heart pound in your chest. You have big dreams of using your talents and gifts to serve God and others whether you may go. People are in awe of your zeal.
What they don’t know is that you struggle in studying the Bible. You dread it when people ask you hard questions about theology because you don’t know the answers. When you are going through difficult times, people tell you all about God’s sovereignty and His goodness, but you simply can’t wrap your mind around it. Theology bores and irritates you. Not only that, you don’t have time to study it. You’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not necessary for your work.
I’ve had similar feelings friend, but let me assure you that theology does not have to be boring. In fact, it is the vital fuel to your passion to serve.
If you will give me the chance, here at Renewed In Truth I want to help you not only understand theology but also how to apply it to your life. I want to show you the value of theology to your service and also how it should change and alter your life. I want to do away with your enmity with theology.
Your Friend and Mentor
Hi, I’m Lara d’Entremont and I am so excited to be on this journey with you. I have a passion for both theology and ministry, and I want to show you how to make those two passions come together.
I’ve been both the passionate missions girl and the anti-social theologian. Now, I am striving to make the balance between the two, rather than flopping to one side or the other. I hope that in this journey I can help you do the same.
I am a biblical counsellor in training who helps women like you grow in your knowledge of God and your desire to glorify Him through what you do in counselling, writing on the blog, recommending all the amazing resources I can find, and providing resources in the Insider’s Free Library.
Along with my being a biblical counsellor, I am a wife to Daniel and Sunday School teacher. I love walking on the beach close to my Island home. I also love to read (so you’ll get LOTS of book recommendations from me), eat healthy, and organizing my desk to my own version of perfection. You can read about what I believe here.
Let’s work together to cultivate a fruitful life fed nourished with theology.
